Today is my eldest daughter Shania will celebrate her 12th Birthday this coming July 18. Godmother asked a favor

Marlett, my daughter, will celebrate her 3rd birthday this coming November 8, 2009. Just this morning, her Godmother arrived from Michigan and will stay for three weeks only here in the Philippines. She’s asking a favor to make an advance birthday party for Marlett, she will shoulder all the expenses of the children’s party which will be held in a famous Fast-Food-Chain of our country. My wife and I agreed and it will be happening the day after tomorrow, I joked, “you’re really Godmother… Can I borrow your wand?”

Mother’s diamond earrings

Yesterday was my grand father’s birthday; most of our relatives are present in the old house. My mother was assigned to cook the menu, but when she washed her hand in the kitchen sink her diamond earrings accidentally fell in it, thank God that one of my cousin was a plumber he unscrew the trap and recover the earring. Then she kept it in her bag, start cooking and made a delicious meal for everybody.

Surprise Surprise

Today is my knees birthday her entire family participated a holy mass. My wife and I wants to surprise them, so we bought a cake and an ice cream for dinner, but when we arrived at their house nobody’s home. We just thought that they are still at the church and we just wait outside for the door was closed. After 1 hour of waiting the ice cream starts to melt and I decided to call my brother on his cellphone, but I was really surprised when he answered because they celebrated his daughter’s birthday in a restaurant and I have no other choice but to go to the said restaurant and bring the melt ice cream and cake.

There Is No Place Like Home

It was a rainy afternoon, my cousin invited me to his place for it was his birthday, but I have to travel by bus because it’s 100 km away from the city and 1.5 km from the high way. In the bus, I noticed that beside me was an old woman who is about 80 years old she smiled at me and I smiled back, then she asked me, where are you going young man? So I told her that I’m going to my cousins house in a mountain called “TAGA-BUKID” meaning a person who lives in mountain.

While chatting she explained to me why the place is called “taga-bukid” because she lives there for almost 50 years, it was named after an old man who lives all his life in that very mountain. Then one day there’s a woman who was lost in her way for their family, because before there was no certain road in that particular place her way then she also told me that please guide me in the right way.
